Tribe of Vikings Hall of Fame
John Wagle capped off his illustrious career with the Augustana baseball team, breaking the school record for runs batted in his senior season with 154. The three-time team captain helped the Vikings to top-three finishes in the CCIW in all four years with the team.
Wagle was named a Second-Team All-American in 2008 after hitting .419 on the season with 11 home runs and 60 runs batted in. Wagle was the offensive leader the entire season. He set a new school single-season home run record when he hit his 11th of the year in the NCAA tournament against Wartburg. He also tied Bryan Phillips' school record of 60 RBI. He was a first team All-CCIW and All-Region selection, a second team ESPN the MagazineAcademic All-District pick and a third team D3Baseball.com All-American as a senior in 2009.
The three-time All-CCIW honoree still ranks second all-time with 243 hits and is second in games played, games started, and most at-bats. He also ranks third in doubles, second in triples, and fifth in home runs. He remains on top of the record book with 154 runs batted in.
