Tribe of Vikings Hall of Fame
The 1991-92 men's wrestling team had a wave of talent all throughout their roster, boasting seven CCIW champions, which still stands as the third-most all time to this day. At the time, the Vikings were coming off their 11th straight conference title as a team, a streak that eventually reached 15 through the mid 90s. Augie won the 1991-92 championships with 108.5 team points, 36 ahead of second-place Elmhurst.
Raphael Wilson was the NCAA Division III champion that season in the 134 class. He finished the year 41-1-1, which ranks him third all-time for best winning percentage in a single season. The Vikings finished fourth as a team at nationals, which still serves as their highest national standing ever.
Overall, Augustana ended the season with an 18-4 overall record. Led by all-time wins leader Kevin Puebla at head coach, the team featured three All-Americans in Craig Wagner, Steve Rusk and Raphael Wilson. Wagner is third-all-time with 151 career wins, while Wilson is the all-time leader with 175. Rusk currently sits behind Wilson for best winning percentage in a career at .944. He ended his time at Augustana with a 153-24-1 record.
