Augustana College Athletics

Charles “Bud” Rehr had the unusual distinction of competing for four years in four different varsity sports and earning varsity letters in each.  He was also one of the few athletes in Augustana history to earn four varsity letters as a freshman. 

As a standout end in football, Rehr was named to the All-Conference football team as a senior.  During his four years at Augie, the football team posted a 27-5 record, including the school’s best record ever, a perfect 9-0 slate in 1934.  He also served as Captain of the 1934-35 basketball team and helped lead that squad to an 11-4 season record.  Rehr also competed in baseball and track, playing in both at the same time.  Rehr’s achievements in all four sports have helped him into the Hall of Honor.
