Augustana College Athletics

Byron Swedberg, a 1943 graduate, followed the footsteps of his father, Col. Art Swedberg, who was known to many as the “Father of Modern Augustana Athletics”.  Swedberg participated in football, basketball, track and golf.

Swedberg was a two-time all conference performer in football, a Little All America Football nominee and Augie’s leading scorer in basketball. Swedberg indeed followed in his father’s footsteps, right up to inclusion in Augustana College’s Tribe of Vikings Hall of Honor.
