Lettered in 1968, 69, 70 and 71…One of the few athletes in Augustana history to win Most Valuable Performer honors three straight times when he was selected by his teammates after the 1969, 70 and 71 seasons…Specialized in the long and triple jumps…Helped lead the Vikings to conference team championships in 1968, 69 and 70…Won five individual CCIW championships in his career: long jump in 1968…long and triple jump in 1969 and 1970…Earned a total of nine spots in the top three of individual events in the CCIW…Was the high scorer in the Viking Olympics three straight years (1969, 70 & 71)…Team captain in 1971…Two time NCAA College Division (pre-division III) national meet qualifier (1969 & 70) in both long and triple jump…Even now, after three decades, he still has the second best triple jump (47’ 5 ¼” in 1969) and fifth best long jump (23’ 6 ½”)…PERSONAL: Wife Christine is a 1972 Augustana graduate and daughter Laura (2002) is a grad as well…Son Keith (2004) will graduate from Augustana this spring…Has been active in local Special Olympics and was a past Boy Scout Troop Committee member…He is the project manager in worldwide parts services at Deere and Company, where he has worked for 30 years.
