Vikings down North Park in three sets

Box Score CHICAGO, Ill. The Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team earned a straight-set road win Saturday night, defeating North Park 3–0 (25–16, 25–13, 25–15).

Augustana took control quickly in the opening set. After the teams traded early points, kills from Ryan Huntington and Cole Clarke sparked a run that forced North Park into an early timeout. Colin Schaefer distributed efficiently throughout the frame, connecting with Tom Lamb, Aidan Bolen, and Alexander Sulewski as the Vikings built separation. A block from Clarke and Sulewski stretched the lead, and Huntington added a service ace during a late push. Bolen's kill finished off the 25–16 set.

The second set followed a similar pattern. Bolen and Sulewski scored early, and a stretch of North Park attack errors widened the gap midway through the frame. Huntington added a block during the run, and Schaefer continued to spread the offense across multiple hitters as the Vikings moved in front 24–10. North Park picked up a pair of service aces late, but Augustana closed the door at 25–13.

North Park stayed closer early in the third, keeping the margin within a few points through the first half of the set. Augustana responded at the net. Clarke and Lamb combined on consecutive blocks to retake momentum, and Sulewski followed with a clean swing to extend the lead. Huntington added another timely kill as the Vikings pushed ahead and never looked back. Clarke recorded the final point in the 25–15 win to complete the sweep.

Sulewski led Augustana with nine kills on a .692 hitting percentage. Bolen added nine kills, while Huntington finished with eight kills, a service ace, and three total blocks. Clarke contributed five kills and 2.5 blocks, and Lamb recorded five kills and five digs. Schaefer directed the offense with 28 assists, and Colin Alvers paced the back row with 11 digs.

With the win, the Vikings move to 7-4 and 2-1 in the CCIW. They are back at home on Tuesday, March 3 to do battle with Clarke. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
