How it Happened

First Half

Augie took the first crack at scoring when Jordyn Swanson took a shot that missed 2:44 into the game. The Vikings generated their first shot on goal at 5:01 when Osorio-Rodriguez saw her shot saved. Augustana finally found the back of the net at 6:12 when Moscovich potted the game's opening goal, giving the Vikings a 1-0 lead.

Augustana's lead lasted only one minute however, as Coe found the equalizer on a penalty kick at 7:15 to tie the game, 1-1. The Kohawks attempted to take the lead on a shot at 10:39, but their shot was blocked by the Augie defense. Another Augustana shot came at 14:24 when Moscovich saw her attempt at goal number two sail wide right of the net.

The shot barrage continued at 19:27 when Schinker had to make her first save of the game to keep the match tied at 1-1. With that shot on goal, there had been seven total shots in the match's opening 20 minutes. Coe then made it eight shots in 24 minutes with an attempt that missed high left at 23:48.

At 26:06, Coe came inches away from taking the lead when their shot rang off the crossbar. Augie took full advantage of this break, going downfield in less than a minute and scoring thanks to an Osorio-Rodriguez goal; Alyssa Mowry assisted the goal. The defenses took over for 14 minutes before the Vikings struck again with Getz's first goal at 40:37, giving them a 3-1 lead.

The final shot of an offense-heavy first half came at 42:06 when Skylar Swanson's shot was blocked. As the teams left the field for the locker room, Augie held a 3-1 lead.

Second Half

The Kohawks had the first shot of the second half at 49:26, but it failed to reach the net as it missed to the left. Another shot did not occur until 60:40 when Schinker made a save on a Kohawk attempt. Immediately afterwards, Allison Gibeau saw her shot attempt saved by the Coe keeper.

Following another Kohawk shot that missed the frame, Getz scored her second goal of the game to up Augie's lead to 4-1 with just over 23 minutes left to play. The Kohawks attempted to make up some ground in the 73rd minute with a pair of shots, but Schinker made the save on one and the second shot was blocked. After Skylar Swanson had a shot blocked, Jordyn Swanson added to the Augie lead with a goal at 80:16.

Augustana put up another pair of shots before the end of the game, but neither found the back of the net. That did little to hinder the Vikings however as they walked away with a 5-1 win after the clock hit zero.
