ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Augustana College women's soccer (4-4-3, 0-2-1) returned to Rock Island on Saturday for an afternoon match against North Park University (3-6-2, 0-1-1). After 90 minutes of action, neither squad found the back of the net, resulting in a 0-0 tie.

How it Happened
First Half
Both offenses were firing early, each having a shot saved within the four minutes. Swanson saw her second shot of the game saved at 8:59 before Schinker made her second save at 19:26. Following Schinker's save, both teams missed the net with a shot attempt.
About 15 minutes later, Moscovich challenged the NPU keeper to no avail. Then, between 39:47 and 44:03, four shots, three of which belonged to North Park, failed to reach either goal. NPU would fire off one more shot before halftime hit, but it also did not hit the frame, sending the game into the break still scoreless.
Second Half
Just over a minute into the back half, NPU put a shot on frame that Schinker made the save on. Augie then had a huge chance to take the lead starting at 54:50, when they put up four shots in a row; two of those shots were saved while the other pair were blocked. NPU followed the Augustana shots with two of their own, but the first was wide right while the second was safely stopped by Schinker.
The defenses settled in for roughly 13 minutes before the next shot on goal, coming from NPU, was saved by Schinker. The senior keeper for Augustana continued her fantastic day at 83:53, making back-to-back saves to preserve the scoreless tie. Following a pair of missed shots from North Park, Augustana had arguably their best chance of the day when Swanson had the ball and a little breathing in front of the net; unfortunately her shot attempt went over the net.
The Vikings from Chicago tried their best to find a game-winning goal, putting up four shot attempts in the final 60 seconds of the game. However, Augie's defense stepped up and did not allow a single one to reach the net, sealing the 0-0 draw.
