PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's swimming team competed in day three of the four day CCIW Championships on Friday. As a whole, the Vikings had three event champions.
On the men's side,
Lucas Rettig,
Matthew Meyer, Jake McCormick, and
Bjorn Sievert conquered the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:31.35.
In individual events, Meyer touched third in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:12.05, while
Carter Lavold followed in fourth at 4:17.15, and
Ethan Herstedt clocked with a time of 4:24.04 to place fifth. In the 100 fly, McCormick grabbed third at 50.62, while
Teddy McGuire followed in fourth with a time of 51.28, and
Ian Palmroos swam a time of 51.62 for fifth. Augie grabbed the top-three placements in the 200 free with
Tyler Leslie winning the event by two seconds with a time of 1:39.33.
Oskar Bannister touched second at 1:42.003 and
Emanuel Anguelov followed in third at 1:42.52. In the 100 breaststroke,
Mark Addison came out on top with a time of 55.94,
Alejandro Jacob placed third at 56.29 and
Michael Garland grabbed fourth at 57.44. In the 100 backstroke, Rettig led the Vikings with a third-place finish in 51.87, while
Trentin Lechleitner placed fourth at 52.60, McGuire followed in fifth at 52.85,
Cesar Castillo touched sixth at 52.97, and McCormack finished 10th with a time of 54.28.
For the women,
Natalie Salazar,
Livy Sholl,
Charlotte Vogen, and
Sophia Warren clocked in second with a time 1:49.37.
In individual events,
Savannah Shapley finished fourth in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:46.58, while
Mara Walker secured a time of 4:54.22, and
Avery Spacek followed a 4:56.56. In the 100 fly,
Victoria Krol touched third with a time of 59.95, while Vogen followed in fifth with a time of 1:00.6, and Stoddard finished seventh with a time of 1:01.72. Three Vikings secured three top-four placements, starting with
Kendle Mihm in second with a time of 1:56.94.
Mya Pheneger finished third with a time of 1:57.61 and
Giselle Koonce placed fourth with a time of 1:58.10. In the 100 breast, Sholl placed fifth at 1:09.61 and
Ava Kauffeld finished seventh with time of 1:10.57. In the 100 backstroke, Salazar secured a third-place finish with a time of 59.92, Warren placed eighth at 1:03.04, and
Kylee Blaha added a 10th-place finish with a time of 1:02.45.
