SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team fell to the Sewanee Tigers on Tuesday by a score of 15-5.

In the opening quarter, Sewanee collected 10 goals, while holding Augie scoreless. In the second quarter, the Tigers tallied another before Jackie McNair secured the Vikings' first goal off of a pass from Madison Langewisch. Sewanee grabbed two more goals to enter halftime with a 13-1 score.

Returning to the field, both teams remained scoreless until Langewisch found the back of the net with three seconds remaining to make a 13-2 score heading into the final quarter. In the fourth quarter, Elena Bechard notched a free-position shot in a woman-up position before Langewisch tallied another two minutes later. The Tigers put up two more points but Langewisch secured the final goal of the game to make a 15-5 final score.  

Langewisch led the team with three goals, which allowed her to surpass 100 career goals. Langewisch also notched an assist and won four draw controls. Lanie Cecala saved four shots in goal in her 45 minutes of action.

With the loss, Augie moves to 4-5 on the season and will be back in action tomorrow to battle Berry in Mount Berry, Ga.
