ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team conquered the Hamline Pipers on Saturday by a score of 12-11.

Hamline followed with a score of their own to even the game before McNair collected her second goal to regain the advantage for the Vikings. At 5:08, Kyla Painter moved the scoring gap to two on a pass from Madison Langewisch. The Pipers got within one on a woman-up situation but Anna Erickson secured a goal with 19 seconds remaining to put the Vikings up 4-2 after 15 minutes of play.

Hamline moved the difference back down to one in a woman-up situation and Langewisch followed with a made shot to counter and make it a 5-3 lead. The Pipers closed out the quarter with three goals to take the 6-5 lead heading into halftime.

Returning to the field, Langewisch evened the score early in the third before Hamline found four consecutive goals to take the 10-6 advantage. With 2:27 remaining, Elena Bechard secured an unassisted goal before Langewisch tallied another with 39 seconds left to cut the deficit to two at 10-8 entering the final period.

In the fourth quarter, Langewisch notched two goals to even the game at 10 apiece before McNair regained the lead for Augie following an unassisted shot at 6:03. Both teams remained scoreless until 1:54 when Colleen Chiavola collected a free position goal to move the difference to two. The Pipers snatched the final of the game with 26 seconds left, but the Vikings won the ensuing draw and ran out the clock to escape with the victory.

Langewisch led the team with five goals and three assists, while Rachel Wylie caused four turnovers and Bechard won six draw controls. Dylon Karjalahti earned the win in goal with 19 saves, which is tied for most in a single game in program history.
