NORTHFIELD, MINN. -- The Augustana Vikings men's soccer team earned a scoreless draw with the No. 21 ranked Carleton Knights on Sunday. 
In the first half, the Vikings anchored a strong defensive showing, fending off six shots on goal out of Carleton's nine attempts. On the offensive side, Jimmie Kucaba attempted the lone shot for Augie. After 45 minutes of play, both teams were held at 0-0.
Returning to the field, Carlos Fernandez took the first two shots for the Vikings with back-to-back attempts. Gonzalo Alberola set out for one of his own seven minutes later before the Knights tried five more times. Neither team found the back of the net, resulting in the 0-0 tie. 
Ignacio Alberola had eight saves in his 90 minutes in goal.
The Vikings will be back in action on Tuesday, September 10at Thorson-Lucken Field to battle Knox.
