CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team was defeated on the road on Saturday, falling to the Chicago Maroons by a score of 26-2.

The Maroons saw a big opening quarter and scored 13 times to seize the early advantage before adding to six to their total in the second. Colleen Chiavola secured the Vikings' first point of the game late in the third quarter in a woman-up opportunity before Madison Langewisch grabbed the final score of the afternoon late in the fourth.

Elena Bechard caused three turnovers in the contest and also led the team with three ground balls. Lanie Cecala also picked up a pair of ground balls and had four saves in net.

Augustana drops to 2-10 on the season and 1-4 in league play. The team will close out the season next Saturday at Illinois Wesleyan.
