Women’s lacrosse falls to Carthage on Senior Day

ROCK ISLAND -- The Augsutana Vikings women's lacrosse team fell to the Carthage Firebirds on Saturday by a score of 27-3. 

The Firebirds out-scored the Vikings 11-0 after 15 minutes of action. In the second period, Narita Lambert notched the Vikings' first goal with 7:49 remaining in the half, but Carthage held the 16-1 advantage heading into the halftime break. 

Returning to the field, the Firebirds grabbed the first one of the third quarter before Ariadna Escobar collected her first career goal. Madison Langewisch notched the third goal for the Vikings from Lambert later in the frame to make it a 22-3 score. In the final 15 minutes of play, Carthage tallied five more to bring the final score to 27-3.

With the loss, Augie moves to 2-8 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. The Vikings will be back in action on Wednesday, April 17 for the final home game of the season against Carroll.
