ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team fell to the Concordia (Wis.) Falcons on Saturday by a final score of 23-11. 

Concordia scored the first four goals before Narita Lambert secured the Vikings' first goal of the day at the 12:31 mark. Kyla Painter scored the next goal for Augustana on an assist from Elena Bechard, with Bechard notching the final three points of the opening quarter for the Vikings. The Falcons led 8-5 after 15 minutes of action. In the second period, Langewisch scored two unassisted woman-up situations but Concordia added five more to its total to take a 13-7 lead into halftime.

Colleen Chiavola made a free-position shot while being a woman up to start the third period to inch the Vikings closer, but Concordia followed with a four-point run. Langewisch stopped their momentum and tallied another goal with an assist by Anna Erickson in response, but the Falcons earned the final three points in the period to create a 20-9 score. In a low-scoring final period, Augie secured the first two goals starting with an unassisted shot from Langewisch, while Bechard followed with a good free-position attempt. Concordia received the final three points to conclude the game with a final score of 23-11.  

Bechard and Langewisch both notched four goals to lead the Vikings, while Erickson added two assists. Kendall Phelan secured seven ground balls and Langewisch won 12 draw controls.

With the loss, Augie moves to 1-3 on the season and will return to action at Thorson-Lucken field next Saturday, March 16 to battle UW-Stout.
