MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team was defeated by the MSOE Raiders on Thursday, by a score of 11-7. 

In a low-scoring first quarter, MSOE scored the first two pointsbefore Madison Langewisch found the back of the net with 1:10 left to make it 15 minutes of action. Elena Bechard tied the game after tallying the first goal in the second quarter to pull the Vikings even. Colleen Chiavola followed with her first goal of the night to move Augie ahead before theRaiders responded with back-to-back points to regain the lead. Langewisch closed out the first half to make the score 4-4 at the break.

After the break, MSOE pulled away from Augie with a 6-0 frame to make it a 10-4 score entering the final quarter. In the fourth, Bechard notched her second goal of the night in a woman-down situation to begin a 3-0 scoring spurt for the Vikings. Langewich followed a tally in another woman-down situation to bring the team within two and a free-position shot from Kyla Painter made it 10-7 with 7:16 remaining. The Raiders added one more to their total and held Augustana scoreless the remainder of the way to close out the game at its 11-7 final.

Langwisch led with three goals, while Bechard had two. Narita Lambert had seven ground balls and five caused turnovers, while Langwisch won five draw controls. 

With the loss, the Vikings move to 1-6 on the season. Augie will stay on the road to start conference play and battle North Central on Saturday, April 6.
