LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's lacrosse team was defeated on the road on Saturday, falling to the Lake Forest Foresters by a score of 23-5.

Lake Forest jumped out to an early lead after a 5-0 opening quarter in its favor. After another tally by the home team to begin the second, Brady Holtz got the VIkings on the board with an unassisted score. The Foresters answered with nine straight points to close out the first half and bring a 15-1 lead into halftime.

Elijah Graesser scored a pair of back-to-back goals halfway through the third, but Lake Forest notched four additional goals in the frame to extend its advantage. Another 4-2 quarter to close out the game led to the 23-5 final. Graesser and Jake Moore accounted for the final two tallies for Augie, each coming on assists from both Carson Ghys and Jack Connolly.

With the loss, Augustana drops to 0-4 on the season. The team will return home on Wednesday to face Clarke.
