WHEATON, Ill. – The Augustana Vikings men's soccer team traveled Wednesday evening for a conference battle with Wheaton, falling 4-0 to the Thunder.

The Thunder put up two points midway through the first half and carried their lead throughout the duration of the period. Early after both teams returned from the locker rooms, Wheaton increased their score to 3-0 in the 50th minute and then again almost two minutes later to secure the 4-0 advantage.

Wheaton took the upperhand in shots with 20 while Augustana had seven. Jimmie Kucaba led the Vikings with three shots taken while Carlos Fernandez was right behind with two. Ben Statz and Ethan Wheeler also added one. 

Benjamin Samuelson and Ignacio Alberola both snatched two saves. 

The Vikings men's soccer team will be back in action for a home conference match against Carroll on Saturday, October 21 at 3:30 p.m.
