ROCK ISLAND -- Augustana women's soccer battled the North Park Vikings at Thorson-Lucken Field on Saturday, resulting in their second consecutive tie.

Augie and North Park went back and forth throughout the first half, with neither team surrendering a score. Kayla Garcia paced Augie with three shots in the first half.

Just six minutes into the second half of play, North Park tallied the first score of the match. Agnes Back sent the ball through the back of the net via a Danielle Boudakh assist. Augustana responded with a score of their own later on in the half as Maeve Sheridan evened the match with help from Liesl Whitener at the 65-minute mark. The match held the 1-1 score through the remainder of the contest. 

Sheridan and Whitener led Augie with three shots each on goal. Goalkeeper Janey Castoe allowed only one score on the afternoon, with seven saves.

Augustana will be back in action on September 27 taking on Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill. Start time on Tuesday is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
