BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team saw their four-game unbeaten streak come to an end on Wednesday, falling to the Illinois Wesleyan Titans on the road by a score of 3-0.

A little over a minute into the contest, the Titans grabbed their first goal for an early 1-0 lead. The one-goal margin held firm all the way through halftime, with Illinois Wesleyan tallying seven first-half shots compared to Augie's four.

The offensive pressure from the Titans picked up in the second half, posting 14 shot attempts in the final 45 minutes of action. Illinois Wesleyan notched their second goal of the game in the 52nd minute, followed by their third and final at the 61:22 mark. The Titans out-shot the Vikings 21-7.

Maeve Sheridan led Augustana's offensive efforts with three shots. Molly Fank had both of her attempts go on target. Janey Castoe grabbed six saves in net.

With the loss, the Vikings drop to 6-4-2 on the season and 1-1-1 in CCIW action. The team will be back in action on Saturday, October 8 at home when they host Millikin. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from Thorson-Lucken Field.
