ELMHURST, ILL. -- Augustana men's soccer fell 3-1 on the road to the Elmhurst Bluejays on Wednesday at Langhorst Field. 

Augie entered the contest looking to put points on the board as they tied Millikin at home in a scoreless affair last Saturday. After an Elmhurst goal (23:27), Valdemar Nihlen did just that, securing the first goal of his collegiate career (38:17) to tie the match at 1-1.

The Bluejays tallied two second-half goals to claim the 3-1 victory. 

The Vikings had six different players register shots in the contest, led by Nihlen and Jarrett Baumgartner with two each. Elmhurst outpaced the Vikings in the shot category 26-8, making a tough assignment for Augie's goalkeepers. Frankie Baio had five saves in the first half of play, while his keeper counterpart Benjamin Samuelson had four, finishing the game in goal for Augie.

Augustana will return home for senior night against UW-Whitewater on Saturday, October 15. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m from Thorson-Lucken Field. You can also watch the action live on stream here.
