ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augie women's soccer suffered their first CCIW loss earlier tonight as the Wheaton Thunder scored a trio of goals in a 3-0 defeat. Augustana is now an even .500 overall and in conference play.

The Thunder scored early and often in tonight's game. The clock had hardly started ticking when Grace Hermanson gathered a pass from Morgan Beamer to score the game's first goal in the fourth minute. Later in the first half, Sophie Lindquist scored Wheaton's second goal in the 18
th-minute after an assist from Sara Bakke. Finally, in the 28
th-minute, Beamer assisted Bakke for what would eventually be the final blow.

Despite the lopsided final score, Augie and Wheaton were relatively close in all other stat categories. The Thunder outshot Augustana 16-10 overall and 6-5 in attempts on goal. Wheaton made nine corner kicks while Augustana earned four.

In goal, Lauren Ketchum went the distance for Wheaton with five saves.
Janey Castoe and
Kierstyn Rogers split time in goal for the Vikings and made three combined saves.

The Vikings will conlude their three-game homestand this Saturday when the Millikin Big Blue visit Rock Island for another CCIW contest.
