Hasting added two more goals and another pair pf assists in the second period, as the hosts scored eight more times. Sophomore Trever Moore (Naperville Central HS, Naperville, Ill.) parlayed Lee Whorwell's (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) fourth assist of the game into a goal in the final minute to give Augustana a 13-0 lead at intermission.

After the margin reached 16-0, Jeff Schultz got Carroll on the board when he scored off a Paul Kerchberger assist at 7:34 of the third quarter. Goals by Whorwell and freshman Dylan Drawer (Conant HS, Roselle, Ill.) sent the teams to the final period with the Vikings on top 18-1.

Sophomore Steve Robertson (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) and freshman John Calabrese (Maine South HS, Park Ridge, Ill.) each scored twice for Augustana in the fourth quarter and Hastings added his fifth and final goal of the afternoon, as the Vikings extended the lead to 24-1. Kerchberger scored in the final minute off an assist from Danny McGee to account for the final.

Hastings' five goals and four assists left him just a point shy of the school single-game record of 10 shared by Kevin Gleason (2014 and 2016) and Andrew Miller (2014). Lampasona and freshman Mark Teschke (Sandburg HS, Orland Park, Ill.) each had three goals and Whorwell was credited with five assists.

Calabrese won 11 of 17 faceoffs and snared a team-high 10 ground balls. Freshman Matt Pierson (Montini HS, Downers Grove, Ill.) had four caused turnovers.

Junior Tommy Angelos (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) went the distance in goal, recording five saves to get the win and improve to 6-3 on the season. His Pioneer counterpart, Abe Escarda, made 20 saves on the day.

Next up for Torie's outfit is a date at league-leading Illinois Wesleyan (12-1, 4-0) on Wednesday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m.
