Trever Moore (Naperville Central HS, Naperville, Ill.) had three goals and an assist Wednesday to lead Augustana to a 9-7 win over North Central at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. Coach
Dan Torie's team improved to 7-7 on the season and 2-1 in the CCIW, while the Cardinals dropped to 8-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

win at North Central.
The hosts held their only two leads of the night early on goals by Jared Weaver and Matt Sheinfeld. Moore answered with tying goals each time. After Moore's second tally, freshman
John Calabrese (Maine South HS, Park Ridge, Ill.) won the ensuing faceoff and went straight in for the score to give the Vikings a 3-2 lead after one quarter.
Senior
Lee Whorwell (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) and Moore scored second-quarter goals for Augustana, with North Central's Tommy Huizenga answering each and the Vikings took a 5-4 lead to the locker room.
The teams continued to trade goals in the third period.
Matthew Lampasona (Oak Forest HS, Oak Forest, Ill.) and
Mark Teschke (Sandburg HS, Orland Park, Ill.) found the net for Torie's outfit and Weaver scored twice for the Cardinals to keep his team within a goal at 7-6.
Sheinfled's goal at 13:55 of the fourth pulled North Central even for the first time since early in the first period, but Whorwell countered four minutes later and
Shane Forsythe (Maine South HS, Park Ridge, Ill.) scored an insurance goal off Moore's assist with 3:49 remaining.
Calabrese won 12 of 18 faceoffs and led Augustana with six ground balls. Lampasona,
Matt Balara (St. Charles North HS, Elburn, Ill.) and
Matthew Jarzynski (Detroit Central Catholic HS, Northville, Mich.) each finished with two caused turnovers.
Tommy Angelos (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) went the distance in goal, recording nine saves to improve to 5-3 with the win. Cardinal goalie Dylan Cost stopped eight shots.
The Vikings are in action next on Friday, April 19, taking on Carroll (0-12, 0-6) at Thorson-Lucken Field beginning at 2:00 p.m.
