Carla Bennett's (Marian Catholic HS, South Holland, Ill.) unassisted goal with 5:36 left in the first half tied the game at 5-5—the fifth deadlock of the contest. However, with 1:29 on the clock, Concordia's Abbey Turner scored on a free position shot to start a run of six consecutive Cardinal goals in a span of 10 minutes. Jennifer Miller's short-handed tally in the final minute gave the hosts a 7-5 advantage going to halftime.

Madalyn Fields continued the Concordia run with a player-up, free position goal with 26:13 remaining and over the next four minutes, Greyson Papp, Taylor Nesbitt and Kourtney Kraftchick scored to extend the lead to 11-5.

Christina McCabe's free position goal at the 16:49 mark broke a 19-minute Augustana scoring drought and Emily Lucnik (Schaumburg HS, Schaumburg, Ill.) and Bennett added goals in the next 70 seconds as the Vikings cut the deficit to 11-8. The Vikings would score just once more, however, with a Kathryn Hettiger (Carmel HS, Carmel, Ind.) free position goal in the last two minutes accounting for the final.

Bennett and Lucnik each scored twice and five different Cardinals found the net, as the teams were neck-and-neck through the first 25 minutes.

Bennett and Lucnik each finished with three goals. Bailey Aasen (Park HS, Cottage Grove, Minn.) led Augustana with two assists. Bennett also had a team-high two caused turnovers, as well as five ground balls, sharing the team lead with goalie Courtney Veitch (Lake Zurich HS, Hawthorn Woods, Ill.). Veitch recorded seven saves and Hettiger led the way with eight draw controls.

Next up for Coach C.J. Holder's squad is a trip to Albion, Michigan and a date with the Britons on Sunday, March 31.
