BELOIT, Wis. – Freshman
John Calabrese (Maine South HS, Park Ridge, Ill.) set program single-game records by winning 25 of 27 faceoffs and grabbing 15 ground balls Saturday as Augustana rolled to a 19-6 win over Beloit at the Strong Complex. Coach
Dan Torie's squad improved to 3-5 on the season, while the Buccaneers fell to 2-5.

Andrei Prikhodo and Michael Boyland teamed up to get the hosts on the board at 11:42 of the first quarter. Prikhodo assisted on Boyland's goal that gave Beloit a 1-0 lead.
Lee Whorwell (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) answered a minute and a half later off a
Jack Preston (Morton HS, Morton, Ill.) assist to tie it at 1-1.
Whorwell's tally started a string of eight consecutive Viking goals. He scored twice more in the run and
Shane Forsythe (Maine South HS, Park Ridge, Ill.) added two goals.
Mark Teschke's (Sandburg HS, Orland Park, Ill.) first goal of the year at 8:48 of the second quarter gave Augustana an 8-1 lead. Boyland scored for the Buccaneers to stem the tide temporarily, but Teschke scored again 1:35 before halftime to give the Vikings a 9-2 lead at intermission.
The visitors continued to build on the lead in the second half. They led 12-4 after three periods and outscored Beloit 7-2 in the fourth to account for the final.
Matthew Lampasona (Oak Forest HS, Oak Forest, Ill.) and
Travis Hastings (Englewood HS, Littleton, Colo.) each scored twice after halftime.
Whorwell led Augustana with four goals and added three assists. Hastings finished the evening with three goals and his six assists mark the second-highest single-game total in program history. His nine points were one off the school record and tied for fourth-best in a game for the Vikings.
Tommy Angelos (York HS, Elmhurst, Ill.) went the first half in goal and recorded five saves to earn his first win of the season.
Cameron Duffy (Glenbrook South HS, Glenview, Ill.) recorded seven saves in the second half.
Augustana outshot its hosts by a 60-27 margin and committed 15 turnover to 21 for Beloit.
Torie's bunch is back in action on Wednesday, March 27, hosting Cornell in a 7:00 p.m. contest at Thorson-Lucken Field.
