ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana sent 26 seniors out with a victory in their final appearance at Lindberg Stadium Saturday, as the Vikings downed Carroll 34-6 in their 2019 home finale. Coach
Steve Bell's squad improved to 5-4 on the season and 4-4 in the CCIW heading into the season finale at Carthage on Saturday, November 16. The visiting Pioneers fell to 2-7 overall and 1-7 in the league.
After stopping Carroll on downs at the Augustana 30-yard line on the opening series, the Vikings moved 70 yards in nine plays for the game's first touchdown. Senior
Bobby Jarosz (Prospect HS, Mt. Prospect, Ill.) carried six times for 42 yards including the final three for the score.
Owen Ennis' (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) extra point attempt went wide right and the lead was 6-0 with 5:12 left in the first quarter.
On its next possession, Augustana took over at its own nine following a Pioneer punt. Jarosz carried three times to move the ball to the Viking 36 and
Zachary Fuller (St. Patrick HS, Schiller Park, Ill.) found classmate
Tom Dolis (Notre Dame HS, Chicago, Ill.) behind the Carroll defense for 64 yards and a touchdown. Ennis added the point after and it was 13-0 early in the second quarter.
The Pioneers drove to the Augustana 20 before being stopped on downs again and the hosts answered with their third touchdown in as many series. They went 80 yards in six plays, all on the ground. Jarosz had 47 yards on two carries and

That would be the score at intermission, as each team had two more empty possessions in the quarter before Carroll took a knee and headed to the locker room.
Jarosz's second touchdown of the day capped the opening drive of the second half. He had five carries on the six-play, 46-yard march, with the other play being a 24-yard Fuller-to-
Max Uranich (La Salle-Peru HS, La Salle, Ill.) completion. Ennis added the extra point to make it 27-0 at 12:26 of the third quarter.
The Vikings' final touchdown came early in the fourth quarter. Jacobs carried on four of the last five snaps, covering 51 yards. His three-yard burst finished off a nine-play, 69-yard march and Ennis' boot made it 34-0.
The Pioneers got on the board with their next possession. Alex Kujawa capped a 65-yard, 11-play drive with a one-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Michael Johnson's 34-yard run off a bobbled snap was the key play. Carroll's attempt for two points failed.
