Augustana picked up the offensive pace early in the second half. Pioneer keeper Peter Villafuerte stopped shots by Chris Plant (Larkin HS, Elgin, Ill.), Jack McKearnan (Warren HS, Gurnee, Ill.) and Tyler Duggan (Broomfield HS, Broomfield, Colo.) in the first 15 minutes of the period.

Finally, in minute 83, Aghlaf tallied his first collegiate goal to give the Vikings the lead.

McKearnan tried to extend the advantage, but misfired on a pair of shots in the final five minutes.

Klaber, along with Augustana defenders Duggan, Sander Soerhaug (Vardafjell VGS, Haugesund, Norway), Adam Baumann (Normal West HS, Bloomington, Ill.) and Daniel Artman (Schaumburg HS, Hanover Park, Ill.) finished off the shutout, as Carroll got off just one shot in the final 20 minutes of the match.

Klaber and Villafuerte each made four saves.
