ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – North Park, currently ranked 14
th in NCAA Division III and the 2017 national runner-up, didn't waste any time in asserting itself on Saturday, September 22 against Augustana at Thorson-Lucken Field. In the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin opener for both teams, North Park scored three goals before the match was 20 minutes old and went on to pick up a 4-0 win over 
Mick Regan's Vikings.
 
Less than three minutes into the action (2:11), Peder Olsen found the goal for North Park off an assist from Deni Cresto. At the 7:00 mark Ricky Pimentel scored off a double assist from Jason Gonzalez and Olsen to make it 2-0. The onslaught continued at 18:33 when Joachim Huff scored with Ulrik Lund collecting the assist to make it 3-0.
 
It was be almost 20 minutes before North Park would score again and that came at 37:20 when Pimentel tallied his second goal of the game off an assist from Gustav Leander. The score was 4-0 at halftime and it would remain that way for the rest of the game.
 
North Park outshot the Vikings 12-7 as junior 
Salah Aghlaf (Casablanca, Morocco) was the Augustana leader with three, one of which was on goal.
 
Viking goal keeper 
Jeremy Klaber (Stevenson HS, Arlington Heights, Ill.) recorded a pair of saves.
 
North Park moved to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in the CCIW while Augustana fell to 2-4 and 0-1. The Vikings will play again on Tuesday, September 25 against Principia in Elsah, Illinois.
