evened the Vikings' record at 2-2 on the year, while the hosts suffered their first loss in three outings.

Coach Mark Beinborn's club needed Anderson's charity tosses because of a furious Coe rally that turned an 18-point deficit into a one-point lead in a matter of 5:40.

After being tied 30-all at the half, Augustana got eight third-quarter points from junior Alexis Jones (Marist HS, Chicago, Ill.) and jumped in front 55-40. Jones and Anderson each scored four as the Vikings went on a 14-1 run over the final 3:10 of the period.

Baskets by senior Clare Kramer (Prophetstown HS, Lyndon, Ill.) extended Augustana's advantage to 17 points twice in the fourth quarter and when senior Carly McCameron (Antioch HS, Antioch, Ill.) hit the second of two free throw attempts with 5:44 to play, the Vikings led 62-44. The Kohawks' comeback started with a Taylor Huber layup eight seconds later.

The margin was still 16 (64-48) after a Sadie Roberts (United Township HS, East Moline, Ill.) layup with 4:02 remaining, but Madeline Wilkins hit three three-pointers in a 13-1 Coe run over a span of two minutes. Wilkins' third trey pulled the Kohawks to within 65-61 at the 1:46 mark. Yet another Wilkins three cut the deficit to one (69-68) with 14 seconds left and after two missed Augustana free throws, Huber hit a pair with 2.6 seconds on the clock to give Coe its first lead (70-69) since late in the first half.

After Beinborn called a 30-second timeout, the Vikings inbounded in the frontcourt. Anderson drove the right baseline and drew a foul from Jamie Feldt. The best free throw shooter in the history of the Augustana program knocked down both tries to lift her team to victory.

Each Viking starter scored, including six points by Jones, as the visitors jumped in front 16-8 early. Anderson's bucket with seven seconds left in the quarter gave Augustana an 18-13 lead after one.

The Kohawks pulled even at 22-all on a Sydney Schroeder layup midway through the second period. Sophomore Justice Edell (Rock Island HS, Rock Island, Ill.) and Destiny Smith traded three-pointers before Smith scored off a Viking turnover to give Coe its first lead (27-25) of the game. A Mia Lambert (Macomb HS, Macomb, Ill.) trey eventually regained the lead for Augustana at 30-29 before Feldt hit one of two free throws with a fraction of a second on the clock to send the teams to intermission tied at 30.

Anderson led the Vikings with 18 points and five assists. Jones had a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds and Kramer chipped in with 14 points and seven boards. Augustana shot .537 (29-54) from the field, including a blistering 16 of 22 (.727) in the second half. The Vikings converted three of 12 (.250) three-point attempts and 10 of 21 (.476) from the foul line. They won the rebound battle 38-37 and turned it over 19 times to 14 for Coe.

Feldt led the Kohawks with 19 points and 11 boards. Smith added 15 points and Wilkins finished with 14.

Augustana is back in action on Saturday, November 24, facing Webster in St. Louis, Missouri. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
