JOE SAGAR - Assistant coach/goalkeepers
Joe Sagar will serve as an assistant coach in men’s soccer, working primarily with the goalkeepers. He worked in the same capacity for the Vikings last year as well.
A native of Manchester, England, Sagar played professionally as a goalkeeper for the Glasgow Rangers, FC and the Porthmadog FC. He was also a four-year starter as the goalkeeper at McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois. He is the McKendree school record holder for career saves (205), goals-against-average (0.90), victories (50) and shutouts (19).
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from McKendree in physical education (2012) and a Master of Arts degree in Education Leadership from the University of Nevada – Reno (2014). He also has a United States Soccer Class D coaching license.
Joe and his wife Jess reside in Rock Island, Illinois.
