Rod Jensen joined the Augustana program as a volunteer during the 2019 season and returned as an assistant coach in 2020. Coach Mike Ducey asked Jensen to join him at Moline High School to bring "different perspectives and experience" to the girls' program there. Jensen says he "hopes to do the same for the Augustana men's program," adding that he "hopes to instill his love for the game in the players so they can gain from and give back to the sport for many years to come."
Jensen, who retired from Deere & Company in 2016 after 36 years in various engineering roles, started playing volleyball after college. He’s has played at the club level and continues to play recreationally in the Quad-Cities area.
