Augustana College Athletics

Michelangelo Butturi is entering his sixth season with Augustana College as an assistant men’s lacrosse coach. 

Butturi enlisted his services with the Augustana Vikings after a four-year playing career at Hanover College under Legendary US Lacrosse Hall of Famer Head Coach Skip Lichtfuss. Butturi twice earned All-Ohio River Lacrosse Conference in 2015 & 2016 as a close defenseman and served as the team captain. Butturi ended his defensive career with over 200 ground balls. Along with assisting the men’s lacrosse program, Butturi serves a full-time role in Residential Life at Augustana College as the Area Coordinator for first year students.

Butturi started his coaching career as the head coach of F.J. Reitz High School and as the head coach of the U17 Evansville Storm club lacrosse team in 2016. 

A native of Evansville, Ind., Butturi graduated from Hanover College in 2016 in Health and Movement Studies. He completed his Master’s Degree in Student Affairs Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse in May of 2023.
