Patrick Doherty joined the Augustana men’s basketball program prior to the 2024-2025 campaign.
With years of coaching experience, Pat is committed to shaping student-athletes both on and off the court through innovative player development, strategic game planning, personal mentorship, and community engagement. Pat’s coaching experience includes three years as a student manager and JV coach at Loras College from 2017-2020. He then served as an assistant coach for Saint Mary’s University for the 2020-2021 season before a stint as an assistant coach for the North Central College men’s basketball program.
During the years of 2017-2023, Coach Doherty holds a record of 96-47, which includes a Sweet 16 appearance with Loras in 2018-2019. Coach Doherty also was the youth sports director for the YMCA of Iowa Mississippi Valley, where he ran a youth sports program of just over 1,000 kids. He fostered a positive and inclusive environment for children to learn, practice and play basketball.
Coach Doherty is from Wheaton, Ill. and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Loras College and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from North Central College.
