2008 Augustana graduate Rob Erwin is in his second stint as an assistant coach at his alma mater. Erwin currently serves as the Vikings’ defensive backs coach.
Erwin got his coaching start in 2010 as a graduate assistant at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. After two seasons with the Bobcats, he spent two years as wide receivers coach at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan.
In 2012, Erwin returned to Augustana as cornerbacks coach. He switched sides of the ball in 2013, serving as running backs coach for the CCIW’s second-best rushing outfit. From 2014-15, he was wide receivers coach and recruiting & academic coordinator at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, South Dakota.
From 2015-16, Erwin coached the defensive line at Arrowhead Union High School in Hartland, Wisconsin, helping the Warhawks to a conference title and state runner-up finish in 2015.
