Assistant Coach Colin Gisel joined the Augustana baseball staff prior to the 2017 season. He came to the Vikings after one season as an assistant at Davenport Central High School in Davenport, Iowa.

Prior to his time at Davenport Central, Gisel was the head varsity coach at BGM Junior-Senior High School in Brooklyn, Iowa. In two seasons there, he posted a 45-18 record and won South Iowa Cedar League and district championships both years. He was twice named the SICL Head Coach of the Year.

Gisle taught business education at BGM from 2011-16. During that time, he also served as an assistant coach at Williamsburg High School in Williamsburg, Iowa and helped out as a volunteer assistant at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. He is currently a business education teacher at Davenport West High School in Davenport, Iowa.

A 2011 graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gisel earned his MBA from Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa in 2014. While an undergrad, he was a varsity baseball assistant at Central DeWitt High School in DeWitt, Iowa as well as head girls’ golf coach at Maquoketa High School in Maquoketa, Iowa.
