PELLA, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's soccer team fell to the Central Dutch on Friday by a score of 2-1.
After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, the Vikings broke through early in the second half. In the 50th minute, Cameron Scupham found the back of the net to give Augustana a 1-0 advantage, with Nico Linaje providing the assist on the opening goal.
Scupham led the team with two shots on goal, while Sanchez Collado and Lambis Fostiropoulos followed with one apiece. In goal, Elias Banke collected four saves in his 90 minutes in goal.
With the loss, Augie moves to 0-1 on the season and will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 8, to host Concordia Wisconsin.
