Box Score CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. - In one final match before conference play begins, Augustana College men's soccer (3-1-2, 0-0-0) traveled into Iowa to visit Coe College (4-4-1, 0-0-0) on Tuesday night. While both teams started out slow, Augustana struck first and did not look back as they cruised to a 3-0 win.

How It Happened
First Half
Both defenses were stout until 10:30 when Augie put the first shot of the game on goal only for it to be saved by the Kohawks' keeper. Augustana added another shot-on-goal four minutes later that was also stopped. Coe finally got their first shot of the game off at 26:10, but the Augie defense blocked it to keep it away from their goal.
The Vikings maintained their pressure at 33:58 with another shot on goal but, yet again, Coe's goalie came up with the save to maintain the scoreless tie. The Kohawks responded with a shot less than two minutes later, but Augie's defense stood tall once again to block the attempt. Augie then finally broke through at 37:09. With the Kohawks committing a foul in the penalty area, Donaghey lined up for a penalty and sent it into the back of the net to give Augustana a 1-0 lead.
Augie came close to expanding their lead at 42:30 when a Alex Sanchez Collado shot was saved and his follow-up attempt sailed over the net. Then, with just three seconds remaining in the half, the Kohawks put up one final shot attempt that went down as a team save for Augie, sending the game to halftime with the Vikings on top 1-0.
Second Half
Augustana's offense got off to a quick start in the second, putting a shot on goal less than 90 seconds in that was saved. The Vikings saw another shot saved at 48:25, and, 50 seconds later, Coe put a shot over Augie's goal. The Kohawks got another pair of chances starting at 52:19, but their first shot was blocked and a second missed wide right.
The Kohawks maintained their pressure with another shot at 59:52, but Augie's defense came up with another block to make life easy for Anaya. Anaya's offense also helped him out at 64:35 by adding another goal to their total when Wise finished off a feed from Scupham and Karubas.
Now trailing 2-0, Coe put another shot up at 65:43 that missed high left. Anaya was then finally called to action at 75:26 with his first save of the game. Augustana followed that up with four straight shots, two of which were saved and the other two were blocked. The teams each recorded a shot on goal in the 83rd and 84th minute, but each keeper kept the ball out of the net.
Three straight unsuccessful Augustana shots occurred at 86:08, but the fourth time was the charm for the Vikings as Kale potted Augie's third goal of the evening to put his team up 3-0. Coe did not give in however, putting up two shots shortly after the kickoff, but neither could put the Kohawks on the scoreboard. Those were the final attempts by the home squad before the clock hit 0:00, finalizing Augie's 3-0 win.
