ROCK ISLAND -- Head coach John Nelson of the Augustana Vikings softball team has announced that Jazzy Poole will be joining the program for the 2027 season.

Jazzy Poole is a 2B/3B from Bettendorf, Iowa, and is joining the team after competing at Bettendorf High School with coach Bob Matthys. During her high school career, Poole was a four-time MAC All-Conference honoree and was on the honor roll. 

Why she chose Augie: " I chose Augustana College because of all the amazing opportunities this college provides, the support they give to their students, and Augustana College being close to home. I picked Augie Softball because of the chemistry the softball team has, their success, and love for the game."

Nelson on Poole: Jazzy will bring more power to an already thunderous lineup and will help us defensively at 3rd & 2nd base. She is a selfless teammate who will give max effort all the time in preparation and in-game. She brings a lot of infectious positive energy and will compete at a high level.
