ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team relied on strong goalkeeping throughout the 2025 season as goalkeeper
Sara Schinker turned in one of the top shot-stopping campaigns in program history. On the year, the Vikings recorded a 3-13-2 overall mark and finished 0-8 in CCIW play.
After opening the season with a loss at Marian, Augustana earned a scoreless draw against Illinois College before collecting its first victories of the season in mid-September. The Vikings defeated Cornell 3-0 and Nebraska Wesleyan 1-0 on back to back days, with Skylar Swanson recording goals in both outings. Augustana added another shutout victory over Ripon later in the month as Alyssa Mowry scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win. They also picked up an early October 1-1 draw against Coe. The Vikings finished non-conference play with a 3-4-2 record while posting four shutouts.
Offensively, Swanson paced the team with 13 points on four goals and five assists, while Mowry matched the team lead with four goals. Ximena Osorio-Rodriguez added two goals and four points, while Jordyn Swanson scored twice during conference play. Augustana battled throughout the CCIW schedule, including a one-goal loss to North Park and Carroll.
In goal, Sara Schinker delivered one of the busiest seasons in program history. The sophomore goalkeeper started all 18 matches and recorded 134 saves, the sixth-highest single-season total in program history. Her 7.44 saves per game rank fourth all-time, while Augustana's 142 team saves and 7.72 saves per game both rank fifth in the Viking record book. Schinker added four shutouts and posted a .770 save percentage while facing 184 shots on goal throughout the season.
The Vikings finished the season with four shutouts, including victories over Cornell, Nebraska Wesleyan and Ripon.
