ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana men's basketball team battled through a competitive 2025-26 campaign, finishing 10-15 overall and 5-11 in CCIW play while collecting signature wins against high-level competition on the year.

The Vikings opened the year with a strong non-conference push, earning road wins at Bethel and Hamline before returning home to take down Wisconsin Lutheran in the home opener. The 34-point victory over Bethel highlighted an efficient offensive performance. Augustana also earned two of its most notable wins of the season at neutral sites, taking down then-No. 8 Calvin, before following with a victory over then-No. 3 UW-La Crosse, which entered the contest undefeated at 8-0, closing the December stretch with a 4-3 start.

Conference play opened with a win over Wheaton, an 84-81 home victory over a then-ranked opponent in one of the team's most complete offensive performances of the season. Augustana followed with a key home win over North Central and a road victory at North Park, continuing to show its ability to compete with top-tier CCIW programs. The Vikings also earned a home win over Carroll before the schedule tightened in January and February.

Augustana dropped several late-season battles, including narrow defeats to Millikin, Elmhurst, North Park, and Carthage, with multiple possessions deciding outcomes down the stretch. The Vikings also split season series with several conference opponents, including Illinois Wesleyan and Carthage, while continuing to generate strong offensive output, averaging 76.3 points per game.

Offensively, the Vikings were led by a balanced core throughout the lineup. Andre Klaver paced the team at 13.1 points per game, while Jake Willems added 12.7 points per contest and Cam Atkinson contributed 11.7 points per game while shooting a team-best .894 from the free-throw line, which ranks tied for sixth in program single-season history. Marieon Anderson also provided consistent production at 10.0 points per game on an efficient .540 shooting clip.

Atkinson's free-throw mark placed him alongside Augustana legend Kirk Anderson on the program's top-10 single-season list, tied for sixth all time. Dani Romero was also recognized off the court, earning College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for his work in the classroom.
