NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Colin Alvers of the Augustana Vikings men's volleyball team has been named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Alvers earns this honor after his performance last week against the St. Ambrose Bees, Illinois Wesleyan Titans, and North Park Vikings. The freshman kicked off the week with 16 digs and five assists against the Bees before collecting 11 digs and four assists against the Titans. Alvers closed the week with 11 digs and one assist in the sweep over the Vikings to total 38 digs and 10 assists.

This marks his second time this season earning this honor.
