Box Score ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's soccer team defeated the Ripon Redhawks on Tuesday by a score of 1-0. 

In the opening half, Augie's offense saw two early shots from Alyssa Mowry and one from Skylar Swanson and Caelan Cole. Both teams put up a defensive battle for the remainder of the period, with Ximena Osorio-Rodriguez attempting two. Both teams remained at a 0-0 deadlock after 45 minutes of play, with the Vikings outshooting the Redhawks 6-2.

In the second, Swanon and Osorio-Rodriguez found early shot attempts at the 50-minute mark. Cole and Allison Gibeau saw an opening 20 minutes later, before Mowry found the back of the net off a pass by Swanson to take the late 1-0 lead. Aniela Ehrlicher shot the last attempt on goal for Augie, and both teams showed a strong defense to close the game at 1-0.

Six different athletes collected shots in the victory, with Mowry and Osorio-Rodriguez leading with three apiece. Sara Schinker fended off four shots to earn the shutout. 

With the win, Augie moves to 3-4-1 on the season and will be back in action Saturday for the first conference battle of the season.
