Box Score MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw with the Monmouth Scots on Tuesday.

The opening half was a defensive battle between both teams, with the Scots out-shooting the Vikings by one. Two of Augie's five were on goal, coming from Ethan Wheeler and Javi Landin. Other attempts came from Viktor Nilsson, Matt Donaghey, and Jacob Roffman in the first 45 minutes of play. One of the Scots' six attempts was on goal, with William Gabrielsson fending it off. 

The Vikings' defense stayed intact in the second half, with Gabrielsson saving all six shots on goal to keep the deadlock at 0-0. On the offensive side, all of Augie's efforts were on goal except for one. Shots were drawn by Donaghey and Jamie K'Otieno, while Landin kicked two. The Vikings endured four attempts by the home team in five minutes, but continued to keep them out of the net. 

Gabrielsson ended the night with seven saves.

With the tie, Augie moves to 0-0-2 on the season and will host their home opener on Saturday against UW-Stevens Point.
