ROCK ISLAND -- The Quad Cities Business Journal (QCBJ) announced its annual Forty Under 40 list this week, naming Augustana head men's basketball coach Jordan Delp as one of the honorees.
The Forty Under 40 awards recognize 40 leaders under the age of 40 who are making a difference in the Quad Cities. Winners are chosen by a panel that weighs equally business success and civic/philanthropic activities. All recipients are invited to attend a ceremonial dinner this fall to celebrate the achievements of the individuals on the list.
"I am humbled to be selected among the distinguished group of honorees for the 2025 class of "Forty Under 40" captains in the Quad Cities," said Delp. "It is an impressive group, full of wonderful servant-leaders for the Quad City area. Thank you for this distinction; I have always worked to serve our community with accountability, compassion, empathy, and selflessness, and will continue doing so as long as possible. Congratulations to all the honorees!"
Delp, a 2009 Augustana College graduate, was named the 18th head coach of the men's basketball program in February 2024. His journey to this prestigious role began as the top assistant coach for the team starting in 2021. Delp's leadership potential was evident when he stepped in as Acting Head Coach in December 2023, guiding Augustana to six wins and a spot in the CCIW Tournament before his elevation to head coach. In his first full season leading the program, the Vikings went 17-10 overall, qualifying for the CCIW Tournament and picking up a win over Elmhurst in the opening round.
Coach Delp also has an extensive background in player training and development, having worked with several athletes from around the Quad Cities over the past 15-plus years. While working with these athletes, he aims to maximize their potential on the court through a curriculum that prioritizes developing players who can make better decisions, in tighter spaces, with less time and more skill. Since beginning his training business, he has worked with over 100 college basketball players, over 20 who advanced to professional careers, and six who have competed at the NBA level. His extensive experience developing players at the highest levels has brought invaluable insights and knowledge to the Quad Cities community.
