CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings baseball team fell to the North Park Vikings on Thursday by a score of 3-2.
After a pair of scoreless innings, North Park scored the first run to obtain the early lead. Both teams put up goose eggs in the following three innings before Augie tallied two of its own to snatch the lead in the top of the seventh. After back-to-back hit batters and a walk loaded the bases, Grant Biggins singled up the middle to bring two runs in and make a 2-1 score. In the bottom of the eighth, North Park tied the game at two apiece before walking off Augie via an error in the bottom of the ninth.Â
Augie collected nine hits as a team, with Kaileb Hackman, Ethan Sosnowski, and Daniel Mosele obtaining two apiece.Â
With the loss, the Vikings move to 9-9 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. The team will be back in action on Saturday, April 5 to host a doubleheader against Millikin.
