ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team fell to the Carroll Pioneers to conclude their season with a final score of 21-2.
In the opening quarter, Carroll scored two early goals to secure the lead before Madison Langewisch got Augie on the board with a solo shot at 11:01 to make a 2-1 game. The Pioneers followed with seven goals in the remainder of the quarter to hold the 9-1 lead after 15 minutes of play.
In a low-scoring second quarter, Carroll tallied four goals until Colleen Chiavola scored at 1:01 off of a pass from Jackie McNair to create a 13-2 game entering halftime.
Returning to the field, the Pioneers scored five in the third quarter and three in the fourth, leaving Augie scoreless to secure the 21-2 victory.
Langewisch led the team with five shots, while Kritika Chitnis and Becca Lacina collected two apiece. Dylon Karjalahti had five saves in her 15 minutes of play and Lanie Cecala saved two in her 45 minutes in the net.
With the loss, Augie concludes the season with a 5-10 on the season and 1-4 in conference play.
