MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings women's lacrosse team hit the road on Thursday, March 6 for a non-conference battle against the Cornell Rams.
The Vikings enter the contest with a 2-1 record and return to action after a 12-11 win over Hamline on Saturday. Augie notched 21 shots on goal with Madison Langewisch leading the team with five goals and three assists. Jackie McNair followed with three goals, while Rachel Wylie caused four turnovers and Elena Bechard won six draw controls. Dylon Karjalahti earned the win in goal with 18 saves.
Cornell holds a 0-2 record and returns to action after a 22-1 loss to UW-River Falls on Saturday. The Rams had four shots on goal with Cece Zanoni grabbing the lone goal and Hannah Miech saved eight shots in goal. Cornell owns a 0-1 home record with their last matchup being the loss against UW-River Falls.
The Rams hold a 4-0 all-time series record over Augie, with Cornell winning by a score of 21-5 last season at Thorson-Lucken Field.
