MOLINE, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings baseball team is set to host the Dubuque Spartans on Tuesday, March 18.
The Vikings sit at 6-4 on the season and return to action after picking up two wins at the Augustana Invitational this weekend against Illinois College and Buena Vista. In their most recent matchup, Augie secured a 5-1 victory over Buena Vista. As a team, the Vikings had 11 hits with Riley Hendren leading with three to go along with his two runs batted in. Ethan McGraw earned the win on the mound with six innings pitched and seven strikeouts. Brian Fischer secured the save after three innings and three strikeouts.Â
Dubuque owns a 4-5 record and returns to action after splitting a doubleheader against Aurora on Saturday. The Spartans collected 16 hits in their 11-3 win in the final game, with Cameron Pratt leading with three and Aidan Elfering batted three runs in. Jake Cekander earned the win on the mound after pitching three innings and collecting two strikeouts. Dubuque holds a 1-1 away record with the doubleheader being their first road matchup.Â
Augie holds a 10-2 all-time series record over the Spartans, with the Vikings securing the 12-6 victory a season ago at Swanson Stadium/Brunner Field.Â
