IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings baseball team heads west to battle the Division I Iowa Hawkeyes in an exhibition contest on Tuesday, March 11.
Augie owns a 4-4 record after collecting a 2-1 record at the Gene Cusic Classic this past weekend. In their most recent matchup against Haverford, the Vikings won by a score of 7-4. As a team, Augsutana totaled seven hits with Dymitri Kanellakis leading with three to go with his three runs batted in. Chance Carruthers earned the win on the mound after 6.1 innings and three strikeouts. Ethan McGraw obtained the save after 2.2 innings pitched and four strikeouts.
Iowa enters the contest with a 7-7 record and returns to action after winning their series against Rutgers this weekend. In their most recent matchup, the Hawkeyes secured a 12-6 victory. As a team, Iowa notched nine hits with Jackson Beaman obtaining two, while Miles Risley batted three runs in. Anthony Watts earned the win on the mound with 4.2 innings pitched and two strikeouts. The Hawkeyes own a 1-0 home record with their last home game resulting in an 11-3 win against Loras on March 3.Â
